right_menu
Stereomat viewers were manufactured in East Germany. The version of Stereomat viewer below can be used to view slides and cards and is manufactured from plastic. The white lenses can be twisted for facilitate removal to allow cleaning. Images viewed through this viewer are bright and clear. The viewer is very lightweight and easy to use.

Stereomat cards were made from compressed paper and were not very robust, They easily showed signs of wear or damage and required fairly gentle handling. The stereo effect of these cards worked very well and individual images are quite large at 20mm x 16mm. The cards themselves measure 104mm x 150mm.

This is a very simple viewer from around 1962 manufactured by Kamenzer Spielwaren, Kamenz., GDR
